Anna & Jack

This was my first set of billingual invitations! We did one set in English, and one set in Polish for Anna's family. Very cool! Anna provided the text and I just laid out the second set of invitations exactly like the first. We used silver cardstock for the main invitation, layered it over a turquoise metallic cardstock, finished with a bellyband of cardstock and ribbon and also printed her return address on the back flap of her envelopes.

I heart cake!

It's always fun when I see one of my monograms or other projects out doing it's job like it's supposed to. This was one of the more unique uses of a monogram: a shower cake. What a great idea! I've seen these cakes personalized with pictures, etc, but this is the first time I've seen a monogram on a cake- love it Yari!

Monograms

I do sooooo many monograms. Most of them are modified stock monograms from my website, with an occasional custom monogram here and there. There are some that are more popular than others so I probably won't post every single monogram that I do, but I'll try to keep up and post the ones I make on a daily basis.

So, for today...

Baby Art!

One of my favorite things to design is baby wall art. I just finished a project for a friend who has four little baby girls to outfit with gifts this year. What a baby boom! Lisa told me a little about each little girls' nursery and I designed from there. These are printed on 5x7 metallic photo paper and mounted in a triple 5x7 frame- so cute! I have done several of these custom baby gifts, but I think an order of 4 is definitely a record.

Some Custom Ideas

Some people want just a standard invitation- and that's great! You know what? Your guests have probably never even heard of a boarding pass invitation, and probably the most simple design with no embellishment would still be seen as creative and exciting. But some of my clients want a little "extra". For these clients, the plain white envelopes just won't do! Now, embellishment can be as simple as a printed bellyband (as seen on the Kathi & Ryan boarding pass invitations, and the Danielle & Ashley boarding invitations below) or as elaborate as a shell bellyband with coordinating RSVP and mailing envelopes.

Here are a couple of my current favorite "embellished" invitations...

LISA & MAX
I did these boarding passes a long time ago, but they are still some of my favorites. Lisa had a great sunset color scheme. I LOVE the vibrant red, orange, and yellow in her design. We used a metallic orange sleeve, with translucent vibrant external mailing & RSVP envelopes. The colored RSVP envelopes make a lovely contrast with the orange sleeves and white glossy paper. The finishing touch was a raffia and mother-of-pearl bellyband and the whole set was tucked in another translucent yellow envelope.

REI & JONATHAN
Every once in a while, I don't design with the bride, I design with the groom. Jonathan was one of those grooms (and I should say that Rei is a lucky bride!). Jonathan had a very clear idea of what he wanted and his vision of incorporating an oriental feel with an earthy, elegant design was perfect. His color scheme of natural greens, golds, tans and touches of pink was the perfect introduction for his guests to their Hawaii wedding ceremony to come. The simple raffia bellyband also fit the natural theme of these invitations and the moss envelopes are some of my favorites I've used so far.

Starfish Invitations

Starfish - style invites are probably the most popular boarding passes I make. Here are a couple recent invitations that stand out as some of my favorites- either the design, the colors, etc...

KATHI & RYAN
Kathi's invitations are printed on stock glossy white paper with a turquoise metallic sleeve. I love her vibrant turquoise and orange theme!

JOY & DERRICK
Joy's chocolate metallic envelopes are the perfect compliment to her gold, chocolate, and green boarding passes. Joy's guests loved her save-the-dates! She set the bar really high with these boarding passes, and now we're trying how to top them with her invitations.

JONI & ADAM
Joni wanted a simple nautical-style design, without being too blatantly "nautical". These invitations set the tone beautifully for her Hilton Head Island wedding. Her black metallic sleeves created a simple yet elegant look which was just what she was trying to convey to her guests.

Just Catching Up!

I've wanted to start blogging my design projects for a long time- I've just never had time to get around to it. Well, I still really don't have time, but I'll start with the invitations I'm working on at the moment and update as I go. I'll try to add in some pics of past favorites for those of you that need some inspiration!

Thanks so much to all my past and current customers- I have made some great friends along the way. I try to get to know my clients as much as possible to create the most unique custom destination wedding invitations. Boarding Passes are still my favorite, but I'm really excited about the Passport invitations I've been working on and I'm also in the process of getting boxed invitations available. Hopefully they'll hit the website in the next month.

Jennifer & Tony

This is my second set of Italy invitations this month. Jenn & Tony are getting married at an amazing villa in Ischia, Italy. Jenn is doing a large presentation of invitations with passports and boarding passes. Her passports are printed on heavy glossy stock with a light blue metallic cover and navy ribbon closure. Her boarding passes are printed on the same stock with matching blue metallic sleeves.

Danielle & Ashley

Danielle contacted me all the way from Australia to make her boarding pass invitations for her Italy destination wedding. This is my second Italy destination wedding this month- soooo jealous! Danielle & Ashley are getting married in Ravello on the Amalfi Coast. She wanted something slightly vintage, in ivory, champagne and chocolate. I love her custom bellyband. Her invitations are printed on glossy white stock, in a champagne sleeve with a chocolate and champagne printed bellyband.

Natalia & Timothy

Here are some gorgeous boarding passes done for Natalia & Timothy's Dreams Tulum destination wedding. Natalia upgraded to a beautiful linen cardstock for the passes, and linen mailing envelopes, both in a warm white. For her RSVP envelopes, we used a metallic mint green to compliment the floral design of her invites. The boarding pass sleeve was a rich chocolate- the overall effect, so elegant!

I also did a couple custom monograms based on Natalia's invitations.
